As part of “Support to the Quality Infrastructure in Turkey”, the project “DELTUR/MEDTQ/040-04” which mainly focuses on preparing and helping TURKAK to become and EA-MLA signatory still continues with its activities in a certain time line.

After the visit to TURKAK by the related EA Experts, to execute the activity to review the training documents in February’05, the main focus was the shadowing activities on different directives, notification, Internal Audit and KPI self-assessment.

After the shadowing activities that were held in Turkey, the main activities were the “pre” and “initial” evaluations, which led TURKAK to become signatory for EA-MLA(for limited scope) in April’ 06. After the positive evaluations, the EA team has recommended TURKAK to become signatory on testing, calibration labs, quality management system certification (QMS) and inspection bodies. TURKAK has also applied for the rest of the scopes (product, personeel, EMS).

As part of the project, one of the main activities was “Shadowing” activities which were held throughout 2005. As a complementary activity, “reverse-shadowing”, took place in the months of April-May-June and July’06 in different AB locations. The importance of reverse-shadowing was that several TURKAK staff got the chance to visit other AB locations to observe the overall operation (on a specific scope) and witness an assessment on the specific scope. These activities were quite helpful as it showed the difference and similarities between the AB and theirs applications.
