ABOUT THE PROJECT
The aim of the project is to assist the National
Turkish Standard Institution to set up a national system equivalent
to those of EU Standard Institutes by several means.
The project is run by the Consortium of AFNOR
/ AENOR
/ DIN
/ ON
since 28th January 2005 until 28th July 2007.
This consortium meets all the required areas
of expertise. AFNOR, AENOR, DIN and ON are four of the major
national standards bodies in Europe, who together provide
more than 50% of the technical expertise iDIDn the European
standardization system, and some 25% of the technical expertise
in the international standardization system.

Work Component 5: CEN/CENELEC
membership
Results to be achieved (outputs)
- The national procedures are in line with
the European procedures;
- The Turkish standardisation system is compatible with those
of similar EU organisations;
- Audit manual (application file) submitted for CEN/CENELEC
full membership;
- TSE is operating in accordance with European practices and
has been accepted as full member of CEN and CENELEC.

- A fully operational structure regarding
the implementation of the standards part of the 98/34/EC Directive

- Report on the structure developed for implementation;
- Number of databases in operation.

7: Generic training/training of trainers
Results to be achieved (outputs)
- All members of TSE’s technical staff are
trained in European procedures;
- A small team of TSE staff and some selected external consultants
are able to work independently and train their colleagues
